This week we have a special request to discuss songwriting and poetry.  (Have your own topics you would like to discuss, let us know. ) Some would argue that songwriting (including advertising jingles, etc.) are the true poetry of our age as it has taken over many of the tools of poetry including traditional rhyme, repetition, metaphors, emotional appeal, etc.

What are your thoughts? Have favorite musical lyrics you think compete with anything modern poetry can muster? Let's discuss...

And as usual, bring in 8-10 copies of your work to share with the group. Song lyrics to share? yep we can go there.
