There is an open mic night for the Porch Project at the Figure One Gallery in downtown Champaign. Here is what I received when I emailed them - " The Porch Stories and Other Tales program is this Friday, February 28th from 5-8pm with featured local artists. Attendees are invited to bring their own stories to share as well.
