Need inspiration? We had a recommendation to dig into the historical character of Saint Valentine. There is plenty to choose from: beheadings, martrydom, secret spy letters and of course courtly love -

"Courtly love began ... at the end of the eleventh century. In essence, courtly love was an experience between erotic desire and spiritual attainment that now seems contradictory as "a love at once illicit and morally elevating, passionate and disciplined, humiliating and exalting, human and transcendent".[5]"  Wikipedia entry
